Stella McCartney innovates by presenting champagne leather
It is one of Stella McCartney’s best textile innovations, in collaboration with the renowned French wineries Veuve Clicquot.
Both have jointly developed a new type of vegan leather. This innovation is obtained from the waste obtained from grape harvests. The vineyards are more than 200 years old.
The famous Champagne wine region is located in northeastern France.
This project is one of the innovations of the year for the British firm, being the first collaboration of its kind jointly by two houses belonging to the portfolio of the international luxury holding company LVMH.
Both maintain a commitment to the values of circularity, sustainability and decarbonization.
The official statement states “Led by Stella’s passion, our goal is to inspire others inside and outside our industry to seek more sustainable and cruelty-free alternatives,” the Stella McCartney fashion house.
