Jorge Luis Salinas announces the identity of the Huaylarsh with a haute couture proposal
The new collection presented by Jorge Luis Salinas reminds us of the traditions of one of the most representative dances of Peru.
Talking about Peru always makes my heart swell with pride and love. A love for a diverse identity, which is not exclusively of one, but of many cultures. And today, it reaches the world of haute couture, again from what is to date our best international representative in the category: Jorge Luis Salinas.

The Huaylas or Huaylarsh dance is that, a symbol of love, as a heritage of the Peruvian Andes, being the mixture that represents the identity of the people of the Andean region. The interesting thing about this is that the dance itself is a celebration of harvesting and sowing, where the whole body is used through jumps and turns to express that joy for life with a lot of symbolism in the Andean world, since it celebrates the abundance.

Designed for today’s woman, who celebrates her life.
This proposal, also, is a tribute to Jorge Luis Salinas’ mother, who during her childhood watched her dance huaylarsh, from which she was inspired for this reinterpretation in its colors, texture, joy and rhythms.

It is in turn a tribute to this tradition through modern pieces, honoring the local heritage, and the textiles that represent Peruvian clothing.

Pieces made with textiles of the highest Peruvian fibers such as alpaca, silk organza is also worked, and even leather (calfskin).

Handmade prints and embroidery are done as tradition, as well as pleated calfskin accessories, gloves and hats.
Cultural heritage shows us a variety of colors, which mix, complement and dance with each other.
Here we share a selection of our favorites from the collection found on the official website.
