Kim Kardashian reveals second Marilyn Monroe dress “after party” at the Met Gala

The famous celebrity shared through her Instagram profile the other design she wore during the night called ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ at Met Gala 2022.

On Friday, Kim Kardashian finally showed off the second look she changed into for the event. Another iconic dress from Marilyn Monroe’s private collection: an emerald sequin gown by Norman Norell that the Hollywood star wore to the Golden Globes in 1962.

The story behind how he got there is even more special. Through an interview with Vogue before the event, Kardashian noted that she also had a replica of another of Monroe’s dresses. But she also had the real thing: a green sequined dress held by Heritage Auctions, which Kardashian wore for a quick photo shoot in her bedroom. This also iconic piece of the actress’s wardrobe is the one with which she collected the Henrietta Award for being a “world favorite movie” in the year 62.

“To top off my night after The Met, I had the honor of changing into Marilyn Monroe’s Norman Norell dress that she wore to the Golden Globes in 1962, where she received the Henrietta Award for World Favorite Movie,” Kardashian shared alongside with photos of the dress. “In my quest to find the beaded Jean Louis gown I wore to the gala, I discovered that @heritageauctions owned Marilyn’s iconic green sequin gown.”

“Later in my research, I found out that the owner of the Golden Globe he received that night was none other than my friend @jeffleatham. I saw all of this as a sign of the way all the stars aligned,” he added.
