Audi quattro Cup: The prestigious amateur golf tournament returned to Lima

The duo made up of Mauricio Bedoya and James Wu raised the trophy and will travel to Rome, Italy, to represent Audi Peru.

Los Inkas Golf Club witnessed a new edition of the Audi quattro Cup, the renowned tournament for amateur golfers that has been held around the world since 1991, the same one that returns after almost 3 years since its last edition in 2019, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In this way, the German brand with the four rings promotes sport among all its clients, with an exciting competition where the technique and precision of the participants prevailed.

As in previous years, the Audi quattro Cup was played under the Greensome Stableford modality, which begins by selecting the best ball from each pair, and then taking turns until reaching the hole. After an exciting and close competition between 60 couples, the duo made up of Mauricio Bedoya and James Wu was the winner and kept the quota to represent Peru in the great World Final to be played between October 9 and 13 in the city of Rome , Italy, at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club. This field is the same one where the Ryder Cup 2023 will be played.

Sport and passion for cars in a single edition

The award ceremony also recognized the skill and technique of the best competitors in different categories for men and women, such as: Long Drive, Best Approach and Best Style. Also, the Audi A3 Sportback was the prize for whoever got a hole in one.

Participants and spectators also had the opportunity to see up close the most recent models launched by the Ingolstadt brand in the Peruvian market. On this occasion, the protagonists were the renewed Audi A3 and the 100% electric Audi e-tron.

Since its first edition in 1991, the Audi quattro Cup has grown each year in the number of tournaments and participants around the world. Thus, by 2022, a total of 600 tournaments have been held in 38 countries, with around 70,000 amateur golfers in competition, making it the largest golf tournament in the world.

“We are happy to promote this sport among fans who share the same passion. Year after year, greater recognition has been added to this traditional tournament, which has already exceeded two million participants in its more than three decades of history,” says Alexandra Bonnemaison, General Manager of Audi Peru.
